ReLyriced

Sung to the tune you're bound to recognize fits.

In this alone, my hope is found
Spirit of light and strength and song
This cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through my fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when striving cease
The comforter, the All-In-All
Here in that depth of love, I stand

In this alone, I'm given hope:
Consciousness breath and mind are made
So even when I cannot cope
Its voice in me tells me not to fade
This personhood, this unity
Voice of the prophets, sages, priests
This comprehensive being of truth
Here in its presence, I will stand

Its name, you ask? Yes, in the past
We've tried to fit our God to names
A spirit, good, wise, real, and just
Timeless and vast, ever unchanged.
It doesn't work to label him
Or her or them, the great “I AM”
Don't have to know just what it is
Our job's just to give back as it gives

No hate or fear, truth in pursuit
This is the spirit's print on me
From life's first cell, to atrophy
We're all part if its grand destiny
No, neither church nor scientists
Disqualify this peace that lifts
Me up from death and into life
Here, in firm purpose, I will stand
